Unseen forest
그 안에서 유영하는 생명의 기록
우리는 매일 눈으로 세상을 보지만, 동시에 보이지 않는 수많은 세계를 안고 살아간다. 이 작업은 현실의 경계 너머, 마음 깊은 곳에 자리한 ‘보이지 않는 숲’을 시각화하는 시도다.
작품 속 숲은 단순한 자연 풍경이 아니다. 기억의 조각이자 억눌린 감정이며, 동시에 가장 순수한 생명력이 숨 쉬는 내면의 공간이다. 짙은 녹음 사이로 비현실적인 색을 지닌 베타 물고기들이 유영한다. 물속에 있어야 할 존재가 공기 중의 숲을 헤엄치는 순간, 익숙한 질서는 흐려지고 생명의 움직임만이 남는다.
베타의 화려한 지느러미는 숲의 잎과 겹쳐지며 실체와 환영의 경계를 묻는다. 이 숲은 누구에게나 존재하지만 쉽게 드러나지 않는다. 오직 감각을 열었을 때 마주할 수 있는 또 하나의 풍경이다.
이번 전시를 통해 관람자가 자신의 안에 숨겨진 숲을 떠올리길 바란다. 픽셀로 재구성된 이 공간 속에서 잠시 길을 잃고, 그 안을 유영하는 자유로운 생명과 마주하는 시간이 되기를 기대한다.
Unseen forest
A Record of Life in Motion
We look at the world every day with our eyes, yet at the same time we carry countless invisible worlds within us. This work is an attempt to visualize the “Unseen Forest” that lies beyond visible reality an inner landscape rooted deep within the mind.
The forest in these images is not merely a physical space filled with plants. It is a fragment of memory, a reservoir of suppressed emotions, and at the same time a place where pure vitality quietly breathes. Among dense foliage, vividly colored betta fish drift and glide. When creatures that belong to water begin to swim through a forest suspended in air, familiar logic dissolves, leaving only the pulse of life.
The flowing fins of the betta overlap with leaves and branches, questioning what is real and what is illusion. This forest exists within everyone, yet it rarely reveals itself. It can only be encountered when one opens the senses to look inward.
Through this exhibition, I hope viewers will rediscover the forests hidden within themselves. Within this jungle reconstructed through pixels, may they momentarily lose their way and encounter the quiet, liberated vitality that moves beneath the surface.
