Memory, Reassembled
우리는 수많은 얼굴들을 스쳐 지나가며 살아간다.
하지만 시간이 흐른 뒤 우리에게 남는 것은 또렷한 사건이 아니라, 조각난 장면과 감각적인 인상들이다. 이 작업은 그런 기억의 방식에서 출발했다.
서로 다른 시간과 공간에서 마주했던 얼굴들, 웃음과 표정, 순간의 잔상들을 하나의 화면 위로 다시 불러왔다. 그리고 그것들을 밝고 경쾌한 색감의 팝아트 형식으로 재조립했다. 흩어져 있던 기억의 파편들이 새로운 장면으로 다시 태어나는 과정이다.
이 작업은 기억을 무겁게 되새기기보다, 언제든 꺼내어 바라볼 수 있는 유쾌하고 생동감 있는 선물처럼 만들고 싶었다. 보는 이가 자연스럽게 미소 짓게 되는 그 밝은 순간, 그 재조립의 장면이 이 작품의 중심이다.
강한 색면과 대비된 이미지는 기억이 지닌 단절과 이어짐을 동시에 드러낸다. 이는 실제 사건을 그대로 재현한 장면이 아니라, 기억이 스스로 만들어낸 또 다른 현실이다.
각 인물은 서로 다른 삶의 순간에 존재했지만, 화면 안에서는 하나의 이야기로 연결된다. 이 작업은 개인적인 기억이 이미지로 다시 태어나는 과정을 담은 기록이자, 지금 이 순간 새롭게 만들어진 또 하나의 현재다.
조각난 기억들은 웃음이 된다.
그 파편을 예술로 다시 이어 붙이는 순간,
여행은 하나의 축제가 된다.

私たちは、数えきれないほどの顔とすれ違いながら生きている。
しかし時が流れたあとに残るのは、鮮明な出来事ではなく、断片的な場面と感覚的な印象である。
この作品は、そのような記憶のあり方から出発している。
異なる時間と空間で出会った顔、笑顔や表情、瞬間の残像を一つの画面の上に呼び戻した。
そしてそれらを、明るく軽やかな色彩のポップアートの形式で再構成した。
散らばっていた記憶の断片が、新たな場面として生まれ変わる過程である。
この作品は、記憶を重く反芻するのではなく、
いつでも取り出して眺めることのできる、軽やかで生き生きとした贈り物のようなものとして捉えたいと考えた。見る者が自然と微笑む、その明るい瞬間、
その再構成の場面こそが、この作品の中心である。
強い色面と対比されたイメージは、記憶が持つ断絶と連続を同時に示している。
それは実際の出来事をそのまま再現したものではなく、
記憶自身が生み出したもう一つの現実である。
それぞれの人物は異なる人生の瞬間に存在していたが、
画面の中では一つの物語として結びついている。
この作品は、個人的な記憶がイメージとして再び立ち上がる過程を記録したものであり、
同時に、この瞬間に新たに生成されたもう一つの現在でもある。
断片化された記憶は、やがて笑顔となる。
その断片を芸術として再びつなぎ合わせるとき、
旅はひとつの祝祭へと変わる。
Memory, Reassembled
We pass by countless faces as we move through life.
Yet over time, what remains with us is not a clear sequence of events, but fragments of scenes and fleeting impressions. This work begins from that structure of memory.
Faces once encountered in different places and times smiles, expressions, and lingering afterimages are brought back onto a single surface. They are reassembled in a bright and lively pop-art style. Scattered fragments of memory come together to form a new image.
Rather than revisiting memory in a heavy or nostalgic way, I wanted to turn it into something joyful something that can be taken out and enjoyed at any time. The moment when the viewer naturally smiles at this vivid reconstruction is at the heart of the work.
Bold color fields and contrasting images reveal both the discontinuity and the reconnection within memory. This is not a literal reproduction of real events, but a new reality shaped by memory itself.
Each figure once existed in a different moment of life, yet within the frame they form a single narrative. This work is a record of how personal memories are reborn as images, and how they become another present moment.
Fragments of memory turn into smiles.
When those pieces are reassembled through art,
the journey becomes an endless celebration.
