거인의 도서관, The Library of Giants

The vast mountain ranges and deserts of the American West cannot be fully contained by the eye, nor fully measured by walking through them. They hold records of time that far exceed the scale of human life. 
Standing before such a landscape, I become aware of how small I am as a single human being. At the same time, I sense how long this land has been shaping its own story. 
For tens of millions of years, wind and water have carved rock and carried sand, forming the terrain we see today. This time flows at a different scale from our own. The landscape feels like a record written by the Earth over an immense span of time. 
In this work, I attempt to look at that vast time through color and form. Rather than simply reproducing the scenery, I reconstruct it in my own visual language. 
The terrain divided into different colors appears like chapters of a story written by the Earth. Layered ridges that flow like waves, peaks rising like spires, and arching passages all resemble sentences shaped by nature. The colors added onto the real landscape reflect my interpretation and the sense of awe I felt before it. 
I tried to record the beauty created by nature in my own way. The result is not an explanation, but a response. Before such a landscape, we can only turn the pages quietly, reading the passage of time through the land itself.
