Cube
우리가 인식하는 세상은 입체 공간이지만, 카메라로 기록된 이미지는 결국 2차원의 평면으로 남는다. 나는 이 간극에서 질문을 시작했다. 입체를 평면 안에서 다시 살아나게 할 수는 없을까? 사진이 공간을 단순히 축소하는 도구가 아니라, 다시 구성하는 장이 될 수는 없을까.
정육면체를 제작한 뒤, 이를 감싸고 겹치듯 사진적으로 기록했다. 그 과정에서 형태는 분해되고 다시 배열된다. 아치와 기하학적 구조는 서로 교차하며 하나의 장면이 아닌 여러 층의 공간을 만들어낸다. 겹쳐진 면과 투명한 구조는 시선이 머무는 깊이를 흔들며, 평면 안에 또 다른 공간감을 만들어낸다.
이 작업은 건축의 일부를 탐색하고 재구성하는 시도이기도 하다. 평면 위에 놓인 입체는 다시 깊이를 암시하고, 실제 공간은 이미지 속에서 또 다른 구조로 변한다. 나는 현실과 이미지 사이의 긴장을 통해 공간을 새롭게 바라보고자 했다.

私たちが認識している世界は立体的な空間であるが、カメラによって記録されたイメージは最終的に二次元の平面と して残る。私はこの隔たりの中から問いを始めた。立体を平面の中で再び生かすことはできないだろうか。写真は空 間を単に縮小するための手段ではなく、再構成する場になり得るのではないか。 立方体を制作し、それを包み込むように重ねながら写真として記録した。その過程で形は分解され、再び配置され る。アーチや幾何学的な構造は互いに交差し、一つの場面ではなく複数の層を持つ空間を生み出していく。重なり合 う面と透明な構造は、視線のとどまる深さを揺さぶり、平面の中にもう一つの空間感覚を生み出す。 この作業は建築の一部を探求し、再構成する試みでもある。平面の上に置かれた立体は再び奥行きを示唆し、現実の 空間はイメージの中で別の構造へと変化する。私は現実とイメージのあいだにある緊張を通して、空間を新たに見つ め直そうとした
Cube
The world we perceive is three-dimensional, yet photography ultimately reduces it to a flat surface. I began by questioning this gap. Is it possible for volume to reappear within the plane of an image? Can photography become not just a tool of reduction, but a space for reconstruction?
After constructing a cube, I photographed it as if wrapping and layering it. Through this process, forms are fragmented and rearranged. Arches and geometric structures intersect, creating not a single scene but a layered spatial composition. Overlapping planes and translucent structures disturb the viewer’s sense of depth, generating another dimension within the flat surface.
This work explores and reconstructs architectural fragments. Volume placed on a flat surface suggests depth again, while real space transforms into another structure within the image. Through this tension between reality and image, I attempt to reconsider space itself.
