A view of a gas station

I photograph gas stations. A gas station is not merely a place to refuel, but a structure that has supported the energy system of an era. Though they exist everywhere and appear almost identical, these spaces have long formed part of the background of our daily lives. Rather than approaching them as a documentarian, I focus on the aesthetic potential embedded within their forms. The functional structure and geometry of the canopy, along with the surfaces of metal and plastic, create a formal tension that becomes even more pronounced through repetition. 
In the photographs, the gas stations remain white. This is not an act of erasure, but closer to a trace. As their function fades and only their form remains, the structures appear as if they still exist, yet are already leaning toward the past. This work is not a mourning for what has disappeared, but an attempt to contemplate a form on the verge of disappearance. Through the landscape of gas stations, I quietly reflect on the time of energy we have passed through and the lingering emotions at its edge. 
The mosaic is not merely a visual effect, but a way of revealing the accumulation of time. From a distance, the image appears as a simple white silhouette. As the viewer moves closer, countless scenes emerge in layered detail. In an age when the transition to electricity and hydrogen is accelerating, gas stations continue to operate, yet they already seem to belong to another time. Through this collective form, I seek to present an infrastructure on the brink of disappearance as a condensed fragment of time..
