Stone cairn
One day, while walking up to a mountain temple, I happened upon a cluster of small stone cairns that immediately drew my attention. I placed a single stone on one of them and made a quiet wish. From that moment on, I began to look at these structures more closely. Even when they were not grand or skillfully built, standing before them gave me the sense that they were silently offering a kind of strength. That feeling stayed with me. The small stone cairns I had once passed without much thought gradually came to seem like vessels containing the prayers of countless people. Because of this, they began to appear all the more precious and beautiful. However low or modest they might be, each one felt monumental to me simply because it quietly carried the hopes of so many individuals. Like their roughened surfaces, shaped over time by light and wind, layers of prayers and wishes have accumulated within them. Though invisible, I believe that some of those wishes must surely have come true. Upon that belief, I add one wish of my own, placing it among the others and recording its presence through my work.
